Kathryn Holly

Group CEO

Kathryn is the Group CEO at Gateway Residential Care. Kathryn has over 20 years’ experience in senior management in the healthcare and social care setting. Kathryn has an MBA from Smurfit Business School and a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors. Kathryn also serves as a board member for the Pieta charity.

Nicola Rooney

Director of Operations

Nicola has 16 years of experience of working in various areas of social care including youth and community and the disability sectors. Nicola joined Gateway Residential Care in 2009 as a care worker and has assumed leadership and management roles in Gateway Organisation since 2013. Nicola holds a BA (Hons) in Social Care Studies from Sligo Institute of Technology.

Brendan McCawley

Senior Manager

Brendan has worked in residential care for close to 20 years and joined Gateway Residential Care in 2013 as a care worker and became a house manager in 2014. Brendan holds a BA in Leisure and Recreation from Glasgow University. Brendan leads initiatives related to staff recruitment and retention and also coordinates recreational activities and community integration for young people in the care of Gateway Residential.

Rachel Hegarty

Quality Coordinator

Rachel joined Gateway Residential Care in 2013 as a care worker and was promoted to the role of deputy manager in 2018. She was appointed as Quality Coordinator in 2020 and is responsible for overseeing compliance with regulation and residential care standards. Rachel graduated from Sligo Institute of Technology with a BA (Hons) in Social Studies.

Francis Mahon

Training Manager

Francis joined Gateway Residential Care in 2008 as a care worker and was appointed as training manager in 2017. Francis holds a BA (Hons) in Social Studies from Sligo Institute of Technology. Francis is also a certified trainer in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, the Three Pillars Model of Care and Manual Handling.

Shane Donnelly

Group CFO

Prior to joining Gateway Residential Care, Shane worked for 10 years in Glen Dimplex in a number of strategic and commercial roles. He began his career in KPMG where he qualified for his chartered accountancy qualification. He holds a BA in Accounting and Finance and Masters in Accounting from Dublin City University.
